Crowns & Bridges

Crowns

Once a tooth has fractured or broken to a point that filling is not a viable option, a crown can often be considered.

We provide many crowns on the NHS, these and should fit adequately and last an appropriate length of time.  A drawback of NHS crowns is that they are made using somewhat old fashioned methods and materials; these are not the highest quality restorations available to our patients, often having visible metal.

Modern advances allow us to provide aesthetic, extremely natural looking metal free crowns that are digitally milled from ceramic or zirconia. Many patients are now opting to have crownwork done privately so that they can enjoy the benefits of these restorations.

To let you see the differences between NHS and Private crowns we have models available in the practice, allowing you to make an informed decision.

Bridges

Many people with missing teeth would benefit, or request, that these missing teeth are replaced.
There are many different options to consider for restoring these spaces.  If dentures or implants are not suitable, a bridge may be the solution.

A bridge is essentially a false porcelain tooth that is fixed permanently to a neighbouring tooth or teeth.  Your dentist will be happy to chat through the different bridge options with you should you be interested in one.
